Molton Brown Russian Leather Collection Review

 

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to the official launch of Molton Brown’s new collection at The Vaults, an underground bar that you enter through a bookcase (how cool!?). Their new line is called ” Russian Leather ” and, as you can already tell by the name, is inspired by the 17th-century Russian leather craft. The full collection includes a Bath & Shower Gel, a 50ml perfume, and a candle that comes with either one or three wicks. You can purchase each item individually on the Molton Brown website here.

Russian Leather Eau De Toilette: 

Although russian leather is considered one of the deepest leather scents, the fragrance itself is surprisingly quite fresh on the skin at first. The basil and siberian pine on the higher tiers of the fragrance, bring a softer “touch” to the scent and balance out the “heaviness” of birch. The fragrance becomes more intense in smell as the hours pass and the base notes start to unveil. The leather and juniper wood add a smokiness and warmth to the perfume which makes it a classic choice for autumn. Bellow is the complete list of notes:

Top Notes Top Notes: Elemi resin, Black tea, Purple basil
Heart Notes Heart Notes: Siberian pine, Tobacco, Birch
Base Notes Base Notes: Vetiver, Leather, Cade juniper wood
Overall, the perfume is ideal for anyone who likes heavier perfumes but still doesn’t want their smell to be overpowering. The mix of ingredients creates a perfect balance between the smoky/sweet notes and it can be used as a great transition fragrance in the following months.

Russian Leather Single Wick Candle:

Possibly one of my favourite Molton Brown products are their candles and i must admit that the ones on their newest collection definitely did not dissapoint. I have been burning mine non-stop since i got it and it has transformed the house into a very cosy and autumnal mood. The smell fills up the room quickly while the design adds a luxurious vibe to my bedside table. I would definitely recommend it as a gift and i actually want to buy one for my parents’ house as well.

Russian Leather Bath & Shower Gel:

Completing the collection, the Bath & Shower gel offers a great alternative (or addition) to the perfume as it maintains the same intense scent. The body wash, keeping the high standards that Molton Brown has set for its Bath and Body lines, is very long lasting and smells great on the skin.

    Those base notes sound so appealing to me! I absolutely adore leather and vetiver notes! I’ll go and give this line a try!

    I would love to visit the Vault’s as it seems to be a really interesting place. Love the description of the fragrance. I can smell them! I love Molton Brown products!

    Not going to lie, I definitely found myself googling ‘the Vaults’ after reading your blog post! I love me a moving bookcase! This range is so perfect for Autumn and I feel like it would make a great Christmas present too!
